The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) announced it has reopened the filing period for survivors in all states affected by Superstorm Sandy on December 2, 2015 to apply for low-interest disaster loans.

The deadline for physical damage & economic injury losses is December 1, 2016.

Superstorm Sandy Fishery Disaster Grant

The Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), in collaboration with the Governor’s Office of Storm Recovery (GOSR), is implementing the Superstorm Sandy Fishery Disaster Relief Program. Funded by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), grants will be made available to reimburse sectors of New York’s fishing industry that suffered a loss of revenue due to Superstorm Sandy.
Up to $3.6 million will be available to assist New York businesses.  The money will be distributed to successful applicants following the close of the 90-day open application period.

Eligible applicants include businesses in the following sectors:

bait and tackle
for-hire fishing boat operators
marinas
commercial harvesters
commercial seafood dealers/shippers/processors
aquaculture facilities

Businesses must be located in Bronx, Kings, Nassau, New York, Queens, Richmond, Rockland, Suffolk or Westchester Counties and must provide documentary evidence that shows more than $5,000 in revenue or gross income losses as a result of Superstorm Sandy and have at least $15,000 in annual earnings in one of the eligible fishery sectors.

The deadline for the application has been extended to January 29, 2016.
