Through a network of 24 regional centers, the New York Small Business Development Center delivers high quality business counseling and training to New Yorkers who want to start a business or improve the performance of an existing business.
Since our start in 1993 , the experienced advisors of the Staten Island  SBDC located at the College of Staten Island, have worked directly with 7,300 businesses, assisting them to invest over $160,000,000 in the area’s economy, and creating or saving 5,000 jobs.

Director’s Message
As we reach the end of a successful summer, as well as the end of our fiscal year, it is a good time to reflect on what we have achieved and what there is to look forward to in the coming months. With more growing businesses in our community, new grant and loan opportunities, and new informative seminars being planned – we are sure this upcoming fiscal year will be a great success.
Some highlights include this past September’s 35th Annual America’s SBDC Conference, which is the national SBDC Network’s professional development conference. The Annual America’s SBDC Conference brings together the “eco-system” of business development experts, counselors, SBDC leadership and many corporate and small business suppliers of products and services for Small Business America.
Congratulations to our friends and community partners honored at the 2015 Staten Island Top Women in Business Awards & Networking Event. Your achievements and participation in community activities throughout the years have helped the borough grow.
We have important upcoming seminars geared to both the Staten Island and Brooklyn communities.
  • Staten Island: Encore Career Seminar at the Knights of Columbus on September 24th
  • Brooklyn: Social Media Seminar at the Bay Ridge Manor on October 6th
The Staten Island SBDC is also looking forward to partnering with the College of Staten Island as students of the Shanghai University will be visiting the College, Snug Harbor, and several SBDC clients.  Rich Marin, CEO of New York Wheel will also be doing a presentation regarding the Staten Island wheel.
I’d also like to congratulate and wish the best of luck to our clients for their success; Visions by Victoria Rose, Brewklyn Grind, Phil-Am Kusina, and Three Brothers Island Deli & Grocery on their recent grand openings.
Congratulations to all and I hope you have a great Fall!
